System Mechanic, a properly good and powerful PC tune-up tool, does a lot to ensure you don’t have to contend with a slow computer that crashes all the time. There are two versions to choose from: the Full version that comes with a long list of features and the Free version, that has basic functionality to offer – basic speed boost and basic system repair and cleanup.

The system requirements for running System Mechanic are: 256MB of RAM memory or more, 40MB of free disk space, Windows operating system (anything from Windows XP to Windows 8). As you would expect, a setup wizard will help you install System Mechanic on your PC. The whole thing will go along smoothly and will not take much of your time.

The panel located in the left hand side of the interface nicely lists all its features and functions. You can use it to browse around and uncover the application’s functionality. Since we’re talking about the visual experience that System Mechanic provides, it must be mentioned that the application puts a PC Health Status Gadget on your desktop. It provides info on your PC’s health status, displays the most recent actions performed by the application, allows you to repair problems and launch a system analysis.

That’s the first thing you will have to do – analyze your machine. Launch a Quick or a Deep Analysiswait for it to complete, and check out the problems System Mechanic brings to light. Once you know what problems plague your PC and negatively impact it, let System Mechanic fix them for you.

System Mechanic Free can do the following: fixes Registry problems, repairs your internet connection, repairs broken shortcuts, reclaims wasted RAM memory in real-time, manages applications that launch at startup, defragments your drives, removes many types of junk files.
Should something go wrong, let SafetyNet lend a helping hand. It will undo any actions System Mechanic performs and re-enable startup programs.

System Mechanic puts powerful functionality and lots of helpful features at your disposal so you can make sure your PC runs smoothly. But the Free version’s functionality is drastically limited.

Pros

The system requirements for running System Mechanic aren’t very high. The System Mechanic interface is intuitive, very easy to use. There’s a handy desktop gadget. System Mechanic will scan your machine, identify problems, and fix them. There are several System Mechanic editions to choose from.

Cons

The Free version has limited functionality to offer.
